Course Description:
The University of Latvia invites master’s level students to join the course "Current Issues of Political Theory" on the FORTHEM Digital Academy!
This course introduces students to political processes in democratic societies from the perspective of contemporary political theory and interdisciplinary research. It provides an overview of key concepts, approaches, and debates in political science, with a focus on how politics in the 21st century is shaped by international systems, state–citizen relations, ideologies, elections, strategic communication, information threats, media agendas, identity politics, and democratic legitimacy. Students develop the ability to independently analyse political texts and processes, evaluate arguments, and apply interdisciplinary frameworks to understand the interaction between political theory, empirical research, and political practice.
