Course Description:

The course introduces the fundamental concepts of digital and analog electronics and the operation of key semiconductor devices, providing the theoretical foundation needed for further study and problem‑solving in electronics.

It is structured into three parts:

  1. Digital Electronics: combinational and sequential logic, registers, counters, timing circuits, and basic waveform generators.
  2. Electronic Devices: semiconductor basics, p‑n junctions, diodes and applications, FETs, BJTs, and optoelectronic components.
  3. Analog Electronics: operation and analysis of transistor amplifiers, biasing, small‑signal models, and fundamental amplifier configurations.

Prerequisites include basic physics (electromagnetism), electrical engineering, elementary circuit theory, binary arithmetic, and Boolean algebra.

The course is theory‑focused, with no dedicated exercises or lab sessions, and serves as preparation for Basic Electronics 2 and future practical activities.
