Course Description

The course helps students to build strategies for the conscious design and development of physical and virtual learning environments, known as schoolscapes. The course raises awareness of the role schoolscapes play in institutional interaction of various kinds: classroom interaction, organizational cultures of communication, and narrated local/national/global history. The course invites students to build a spatial and social understanding of learning, which contributes to the development of original teaching practices focused on interaction, exploratory learning, and customized learning environments.

Two self-study online modules of the course are available during the autumn semester of 2026. One of the modules includes study units with pre- and post-tasks and video lectures. The other module invites the student to write a brief literature review about a related topic of their interest.

ECTS credit:
The course is worth 1-2 ECTS credits, depending on the workload the student chooses.
