Data management. Data-driven in action
Course Description
Data Management. Data-Driven in Action is an introductory, self-paced online course designed for Bachelor’s and Master’s students from different academic disciplines. It offers a practical journey through the world of data and shows how data can be collected, organised, interpreted and used to support responsible decision-making.
The course does not require previous knowledge of statistics, programming or data analysis. Instead, it focuses on developing data literacy, critical thinking and an understanding of the role of data in contemporary organisations and societies. Students will explore the data lifecycle, basic principles of data management, data quality, simple analysis and visualisation, data-driven and data-informed decision-making, as well as ethical, privacy and social challenges related to data use.
The course combines short video lessons, interactive H5P activities, practical exercises, case studies and automated quizzes. Students complete the course independently and at their own pace. Their progress is assessed through an initial diagnostic test, module quizzes, a final decision-making challenge and a final test.
By the end of the course, students will be able to understand, evaluate and use data more consciously, critically and responsibly in academic, professional and everyday contexts.
